Improvement to Addgene MTA Processing

December 12, 2018

Overall the switch to a single point of submission for unfunded agreements (MTAs, DUAs, and CDAs) has been a success as we all work together to manage the ever-expanding research portfolio of our investigators; however, we have heard your feedback on challenges related to Addgene MTAs and are pleased to announce a streamlined process for this subset of MTA transactions.

Effective as of December 12, 2018, requests for plasmids through Addgene will no longer require an InfoEd submission and can instead be entered and tracked solely through the Addgene system.

This change in process should result in reduced effort on research administrators and should also enable our negotiators to focus more time on negotiable agreements. Note that reports in Cognos and Tableau will not reflect these agreements, since they will no longer be captured in InfoEd.

Please let me know if you have any questions or comments about this change. Thank you for working with us to improve research administration at Northwestern.
